School of Athens

More than 1000 years ago there was a public space to generate and rebuke ideas, to exercise the body and mind, to engage with one’s neighbor regardless of ideology. The world has lost this space. We will bring this space back.

Practicing

Wisdom is the process by which we remove contradictions between actions and intentions. A wiser society is a better society. This process is best undertaken with people. There are no barriers to entry. Ask questions, and be willing to admit when you were wrong. We have started in NYC and plan to build out from here.

Philosophy Club on every corner

We want to encourage philosophical thought and discourse in workplaces. This will put people in the right spots and will put companies anchored to their aims.

Teaching

We will run a 6 week program for high school students to engage philosophical texts and grapple with these questions. Efficiency is not an end in itself, it is a means to an end. One should spend enough time to grapple with whether their ends justify their means.

Restore philosophy into a social practice for the future generation of learners and leaders.

Public schools in the U.S. by and large do not teach philosophy. We plan to learn from the successes and failures from the Fellowship to build a high school philosophy curriculum and aim to get this course offered (and promoted) nation-wide.
